Question: What is your favorite classic novel and why?
“To Kill a Mockingbird ate jhing! –Miki Tabinas

“Call of the Wild by Jack London. It’s about a domesticated dog that turned to a wild dog. It taught me many lessons. Be brave tho. I recommend it to young readers like me. Lol, It’s worth reading.” –Alliezah Garcia

“Lord of the Flies. I think this is the first classic novel I had read. Out of curiosity and boredom dahil vacation nun and that’s the first book I saw at home. Chill lang yung story compared to other classic novels na kailangan ko pa ng katabing dictionary. Sa tingin ko isa ito sa pwedeng irecommend for beginners that would like to read a classic novel.” –Rio Zaira Tenecio

“The Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë… Strangely compelling and undoubtedly well written. It depicts the terrors and horror of selfish human emotions and the complexities it can bring. It presents a web of conflict between characters that are utterly hateful and thoroughly contemptible. Hate and vengeance overflows the entire story, barely balance-out by the love between Catherine and Heathcliff, which makes it hard for someone to stop once you start reading it, one would keep on waiting and wanting for that resolution prolonged by vivid imagery of the gloomy moors and point of views of multiple well develop side characters. Emily effortlessly portrayed the worst form of humanity when swallowed by anger and hate but also consumed by a love so strong. With a conflict too great, I just love the manner as to which she ended the whole tirade. Subtle, realistic, abrupt but satisfying. This story has taught me that if one must hate and refused to forgive, carry that hate with you unto your grave, don’t pass it along.” –Rhye Quirante
“Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, ate. It is hauntingly poetic. Yung maiinis ka sa characters kasi may mga chances silang sinayang pero at the same time, maaawa rin kasi biktima lang din sila ng mga wrong choices at sitwasyon mismo. Heathcliff’s love for Catherine is so overwhelming, na minsan iniisip ko na parang di deserving si Catherine nung pagmamahal na yun. But who am I to judge, right? This novel is just too much. Laging may goosebumps. It’s about girl empowerment in some aspects dahil napakatalino ni Jane at nagbibigay ng unconditional love sa mahal niya.” –Vanessa Necesario
